CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- With school starting soon, no parent wants to send their children to have messy hair.

Parents will have the opportunity to take their children to receive a free haircut.

The 100 Black Men of Central Virginia is hosting a back-to-school bash this Sunday.

Haircuts, shoes, and school supplies will be given out to students in order to prepare them for school.

Kids and parents will also have an opportunity to attend skating lessons for those who participate in the event.

"It’s an incredible event,” said Daniel Fairley, President of 100 Black Men of Central Virginia. “It’s going to be the second annual one where kids are going to get back to school haircuts as they go and want to feel fresh and look nice going back into the school year."

According to Fairley, last year's event served about 80 kids. The organization is expecting more than that this year.

The event will be held at the Cherry Avenue Boys and Girls Club from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Sunday.
